Use this tool to estimate the calories you burn when you run. Please keep in mind that this is only an estimate. Many factors, such as temperature or terrain, can affect the actual number of calories burned during a given workout.
If you are exercising to lose weight, remember that the calories burned each day through exercise and other activities must exceed the calories you consume each day. The more regularly you exercise and the more carefully you monitor your diet, the more weight you will lose.
You do not have to run fast to burn calories. In fact, there is a marginal difference between the number of calories burned by walking versus running the same distance. Your weight does matter, however, since it requires more energy to move a heavier object than a lighter one.
