While i like the insole and general fit of the shoe, I find these shoes very difficult to wear because the sides of the upper, which feels like a mesh-covered foam, are a little too \"sloppy\". I don\'t have enough lateral stability during step aerobics or while trying to balance on one foot while stretching my quads (or whatever else I may do while standing on one foot). I don\'t have a narrow foot but the sides are so soft that even if I tie the shoes as tightly as possible, my foot slides side to side far to (within the shoe) too easily. I\'ve retired these to use as walking shoes and they\'re great for that.

I received my shoes in January 2010. I took a chance on them based on other NB customer reviews, and a solid recommendation from the ExerciseTV website. They are the best training shoes that I have ever used in my life. I mostly do circuit, and interval training type of workouts. I lift weights in between plyometric cardio spurts. I normally do this 3-5 times per week. I had mistakenly bought NB running shoes for this type of workout in the past, and my feet would always hurt; sometimes my feet would be unstable while doing jumping exercises. With the 1210 shoes, I have no problem. My feet do not hurt anymore after a workout. I do not feel unstable during the workout. My feet feel cushioned during every step whether using my toes to land or using my heels to step. I can do sideways movements without worrying about poor ankle placement. The shoes have remarkably enhanced my overall workout performance! So I am able to hang in there longer. These shoes are simply the best. They are worth the money. You do not need to break them in; they are ready to go out of the shoebox. They were even laced up when I opened the box. Phew. I went up a 1/2 for my shoe size (9 1/2), and I chose the wide width. The style is good, but I wish they came in more colors other than the grey/silver/light blue combo. Despite the color issue, I would defintely recommend this shoe as a great buy!
