6\' 200 lbs. Neutral Runner with medium arches. I am a slow runner---I try to manage my pulse which is high, thus my pace stays low compared to many others. I run 45 minutes in the morning and 45 in the evening.
I visited a New Balance store and based on my description of my neutral style, was placed in a pair of 1063\'s. Great cushion in the heal, not so much in the toe, however with my medium-to low arch, after two 3 mile runs, the arch was just too high for me.
So I went back to the NB store, and a different associate looked at my arches and placed me in a stability shoe---the 850. Most shoes feel good during the few minutes on the store treadmill., the 850 was no exception.
After my first 45 minute run, it felt good, but not great. But the following runs brought concern. The \'Stablicore\" became very noticable and annoying---like stepping on a hard layer of support \"in\" your shoe---almost like the arch flattend out and shifted backwards from the mid foot to the heal.
An hour after the run, my knees were hurting, this has never happened before. with leg pain the next day.
I really like NB and would love to find a shoe for a 200 lb runner with a neutral gate and medium to low arch.
