I used the 1201\'s during my thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail in 2008. I suffered horribly for the first 800-900 miles trying to find the proper fit for my feet before I happened upon these. They saved my hike. The first day I used them I knew I had found my footwear. I used a size 11 2E. I\'m thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail starting in the spring of 2010 and you can bet these will what I\'ll be wearing the entire hike. They are durable, comfortable and supportive.

This is the second pair of New Balance shoes that I’ve owned and cannot say anything bad about the fit, style or comfort of this model. It’s snug, comfortable and while I walk from 5 to 10 km each day, I’ve never had a blister or any issues. My orthotic fits the shoe like a glove and my feet feel great after walking any distance. The ONLY strange part to this is that after a year, the shoes squeak – I have no idea why; but whenever I take a step, it sounds as if leather is pulling on leather. While I could never sneak up on anyone, the shoes are still great.
