The 556 is the BEST shoe New Balance has made yet that combines comfort, ability, and retro design in a single shoe. Usually the retro shoes look awesome, but they won't work for sports activities, and after walking in them a while, they become uncomfortable. However, the 556 remains comfortably and if pulled into an unexpected soccer game or run, these shoes will still perform. They need to make more options for this shoe. I have my strictly running shoes, but when I'm not running, I'll always be in my 556's... Side note: They do run a little small. I have a 10 1/2 inch foot but I wear an 11 1/2 556

I have been a devote NB customer for several years now. I recently bought some 556 Retro's and again was not let down. I have owned a wide range of NB shoes high and low numbers and different styles. I can say that all NB shoes are the most comfortable you will ever put on your feet. NB shoes are designed with more of an athletic state of mind. So there all great of excersing in. They have also branced out into athletic footwear like cleats, etc. I can also say that some NB shoes are more comfortable than others. I go by a simple rule. The higher the number usually the more comfortable the shoe. So you really can't go wrong with any NB shoe. All you other brands aint got nothing on these shoes.
